Elspeth’s Kumi Community Foundation (EKCF) is our permanent base in Kumi, established by Community Based Rehabilitation workers Akula Harriet and Atom Rose — long-standing members of the KCF team who understand the communities they serve.

From EKCF, Harriet and Rose can identify and assess children with disabilities or malnutrition, support families with advice and counselling, and work alongside specialists at Kumi Hospital to determine the right next step. This could include rehabilitation and home exercises, nutritional support, specialist treatment or referral for surgery.

Most importantly, EKCF creates a permanent, locally led hub where individuals and families know they can turn for support.

It represents the next chapter of KCF: strengthening local expertise, creating sustainable support and ensuring the work started more than 20 years ago can continue long into the future.
